Exploring Faith

Salvation through Jesus is the first step in the life of a Christian! The only way to enter into a relationship with God is by placing your faith in what Jesus accomplished for you on the cross and through his resurrection. Continue reading for more information about how you can have a relationship with God through Jesus.

The Bible is clear that we have all done things that are wrong, and it refers to those things as sin.  Sin separates us from God.

Romans 3:23 – For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.

Sin results in negative consequences, and ultimately both physical and spiritual death.

Romans 6:23 – For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord

But God didn’t leave us without hope.  He provided a way for us to experience a relationship with him by offering his Son, Jesus, as the only acceptable sacrifice for our sin.

Romans 5:8 – But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

Jesus died as the perfect sacrifice for our sins, and he was resurrected, conquering death, sin, and hell.  When a person places his or her faith in what Jesus did as the only way to be in a relationship with God, the Bible says that person is saved.

Romans 10:9,10 – If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.

So, the question remains: Have you ever placed your faith in Jesus for salvation?

If you haven’t, and you would like to give your life to Jesus, you can confess this to God:

Dear God,
I admit that I’m a sinner.
I understand that my sin separates me from you because you are holy, and I am not.
I believe you sent your Son, Jesus, to be the payment for my sin.
So, the best way I know how,
I’m repenting of my sins,
And I’m placing my faith in what Jesus accomplished through his death and resurrection,
so I can have a relationship with you.
Forgive me of my sins.
Come into my life, and make me new.
Thank you for saving me.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The prayer itself doesn’t save you, but if you believe in your heart the words you just prayed, the Bible teaches that you have entered into a relationship with God through Jesus!
